Hi! My name is Abigail Stewart and I am looking forward to implementing this lifestyle change! I live in Colorado with my husband and two dogs! I am also looking forward to what God is going to do in my life as I learn how to walk closer with Him.
Hi! My name is Laura. I'm looking forward to growth of a different kind. I feel this is the place for me to begin. I live in the Missouri Ozarks with my husband, granddaughter, a cat and three dogs. I want to walk closer to God this year.
Hello. My name is Sylvia and I am 65 years old. I am excited about joining this on line group. I have spent a lifetime of struggle with food as a comforter - even though I know only God can comfort.
Blessings.
Hello I am Meghan a 37 year old single mom in olathe ks and I am really trying to find ways to just get on track and get encouragement when I am really struggling..I have been fighting this battle since I was 14 and I am so tired at times I just want to give up and be fat...but that is not the life God has created for me so I have to find a way to be okay here and "Not Diet" my way to a new healthy life. Thanks for the help!
Hi, My name is Sharon and I, too, have spent a lifetime dealing with food issues. I am divorced, will be 60 is a couple of weeks, live alone (with the exception of my little dog, Cassi), live in Colorado, and desire to continue enriching my walk with God. I belonged to a 3D Group about 4 years ago. It was wonderful, but I am back (at least weight-wise) where I started back then. I am looking forward to this journey.
Blessings.
Two friends and I utilized 3D materials 8 years ago and I lost 55 pounds. I stayed within a 10 pound range for nearly three years but began having other health issues. The subsequent medications and physical limitations caused me to regain the weight rapidly. My husband also retired after 22 years in the military. He also developed diabetes and other ailments. Our lives were in such turmoil that we switched to "survive" rather than "thrive" (i.e., bought our first house, boomerang son & family, daughter with own health issues, empty nest, finances, ...). We surrendered to discouragement & depression. The treadmill came to live in the garage & comfort came in chocolate wrappers. When one part of our lives gets out of balance, it seems like it all spirals out of control. We do not usually reach the frustration point at the same time but we finally agreed to prioritize and we already feel more hopeful. Becoming independently wealthy with a dramatic increase in our leisure time is not likely. Nor is the appearance of the cleaning fairy. However, just taking this step has released some of the burden. I'm looking forward to sharing the 3D journey with my husband this time. As with many areas in our Christian walks, may we gain by losing!
Hi...My name is Sandra, I'm 65 and I'm from Vermont. I'm to begin with a new group Friday morning, but thought I would like to be part of this online group, as well. The instructions are to "sign up to the left under Welcome New Members", but all I really find is this blog - no "sign up"... Did I miss something? :o) Looking forward to this community...
Many thanks...
After 30 years of good old American yo-yo dieting, I began the 3D journey in January 2007. I hungered to believe that God could possibly care about my food issues. Little did I know that the 3D journey would challenge me to look at balance in my life, forgiveness, my size, well-being, and discipline for starters! For the first time, the weight journey via 3D-Your Whole Life is not about the numbers, but about wellness on every level – physical, mental/emotional and spiritual.
Dear Patricia from New Mexico,
Maggie and I received your e mail and are delighted that you will be joining the on line group. Our prayers are with you and we hope the Lord will meet you in this group.
As a judge you must discern the will and ways of GOd for many people so we will especially pray for you at work.
Carol and Maggie
Good morning. My name is Letty Bartoszek and today I am beginning the 3D program. I live in Pelham, New York and am a life-time member of WW. I am looking forward to doing the readings for the week and keeping track of my meals.
Hi, my name is Beverly and I live in Houston, TX. In the late 70's through the mid 80's I was involved in 3D as a participant and as a leader. I cannot express the richness that the program, the Lord and the people brought to my life.
Well, here I am again Lord. Ready to peel away the layers and readdress this thing called "discipline". I am looking forward to experiencing how God will use today's technology to allow us to support one another and grow closer to Him!
Hi,
My name is Sharon. My copy of Your Whole Life arrived in the mail yesterday and I am so excited to be joining with you all in this journey. I live in a small rural town in Ontario, Canada and plan on doing the 3D program on my own as I know of no groups in this area to join.I will look to this online group for support. I turn 50 in two weeks and have had a most stressful year this past year due to the failing health of my elderly parents, especially my father who was hit by a car a year ago and has only survived through this ordeal due to the miraculous touch of God's healing hand on him. However, he was critically injured and sustained cautaustrophic brain injuries ( the doctors terminology) and now resides in a long term care facility. I can't begin to tell you the stress this has caused for my mother and our family and still continues to do so on a daily basis. I know I can't blame my weight entirely on the events of this past year - I have actually struggled with being 20 - 30 pounds overweight my entire adult life, other than for a year when I did lose 30 pounds right after the birth of my second child. I know that God has a plan for my life --- and I want to learn how to eat right, live well and live God.
Dear Carol and Maggie,
I have been a part of 3D since 1981. I have had groups as small as 5 and as large as 25 with a waiting list to join. I have seen women lose tremendous amounts of weight and walk away with changed lives, and others who stopped before they even began. Our group helped other groups form in many other churches of various denominations. I have experienced bitter and sweet down through the years. I look back and wish I had kept a diary of my experiences. We have also endured attacks by the enemy and praise God He always brought us through to victory! I have written poems and devotions from my own food addiction experiences and I have a zeal in my heart to help others with the same struggles. If there is anyone who contacts you that does not have a local 3D group in their area, my group members and I would love to network with them via the computer to be of encouragement and support. We just need a way to get the word out that we are here. On line support cannot replace a one on one group experience, but when it is simply not available, this is the next best thing.
Thank you and God bless you both for this wonderful minsitry!
