Keep Walking!

Recently I read an article in the Boston Globe stating that wearing a pedometer is an unusually good motivator to get people to walk more. The device "is a great little motivator" said Stanford University internist and lead author Dr. Dena M. Bravata. "I never anticipated such a small intervention could have such a big effect" The research says that wearing a peometer leads to weight loss and lower blood pressure.
It has been one year since I attached that little device to my waist band and I can personally tell you that it works! The great thing about this is that I am never putting myself down about what I didn't do in the way of exercise. Instead at the end of the day if my numbers are too low I just get up and do 10 minutes on the tread mill or I go to the grocery store and park further out in the lot and walk up and down every aisle. You guessed it by bedtime my steps have doubled or tripled by doing things I had to do anyway.
So keep walking.
